DEEPLY
Swimming in a sea of love,
your forehead soaks my hair and neck,
and I drink you up
like a flower drinks rain.

Absorbing my pain,
it is into your blue eyes that I swim,
to the depths of the ocean.
Your spirit permeates me like a magic potion,
like the magnetic pull of moon and tide.

Maybe it's the way you want me,
the desire on your face that holds me,
maybe it's the books you read
or the way you taste,
or your thoughtfulness (never haste!)
when we make love.

I don't know the answers,
I only have questions.
And I'll keep asking them
until it's over,
maybe never stopping
if you remain my lover.
